Madrid, 18 July 2023: The Health and Sustainability Action Group, led by WBCSD’s Global Network partner in Spain Forética and made up of 28 large companies – headed by Chiesi, ASISA Group and Quirónsalud – has launched the ‘Toolkit for integrating mental health in the company’ (Toolkit para integrar la Salud Mental en la empresa in Spanish).
This initiative aims to establish a foundation for promoting the prevention of psychosocial risks in companies, urging them to go beyond legal requirements and providing a practical tool for addressing mental health in the workplace and integrating it into their overall business strategy.
To this end, the toolkit proposes six key steps to integrate mental health into a company’s ecosystem: establishing an effective commitment to employees’ mental health, making an initial diagnosis of specific mental health measures, designing a strategy with concrete goals and objectives and sizing resources, implementing concrete actions, measuring for improvement, and providing support when mental health issues arise.
The Spanish Business Council for Sustainable Development, promoted by Forética, presented, at the beginning of 2022, the Spanish roadmap ‘Vision 2050: time to transform’, based on the work led by WBCSD and adapted to Spain by Forética, to help companies develop actions to change the system. This report identifies health and wellbeing as one of the nine routes of Vision 2050, establishing it as a fundamental axis.
The Health and Sustainability Action Group is the business meeting point in Spain for leadership, knowledge and dialogue to value health and wellbeing as an essential element of corporate sustainability.
