About

Vision: To lead, enable and drive the business community to transform for a green, liveable and sustainable Hong Kong SAR.

Mission: To galvanize business actions towards environmental excellence and net zero in Hong Kong SAR by connecting the government, businesses, and community through thought leadership, innovative solutions, policy advocacy, strategic partnership, advisory services, and environmental education.

Priorities

BEC has identified three environmental focus areas (“EFAs”) – Climate Change, Circular Economy, and Sustainable Living Environment. These EFAs serve as anchor points for BEC to drive business actions and maximize impact. BEC runs three Advisory Groups (one for each EFA), which act as platforms for idea dissemination and exchange.

  • BEC Climate Change Business Forum Advisory Group promotes and supports climate action, enhances corporate governance for climate resilience, and mobilizes BEC members and the wider business community to contribute collectively to Hong Kong SAR’s transition to a low carbon economy.
  • BEC Circular Economy Advisory Group promotes best practices in the circular economy and resource management amongst BEC members and the wider business community in Hong Kong SAR.
  • BEC Sustainable Living Environment Advisory Group promotes the importance of a sustainable living environment (built and natural) amongst BEC members and the wider business community in Hong Kong SAR.
