About

A non-profit organization, headquartered in Madrid, its multi-stakeholder membership includes more than 200 members including businesses – from limited companies to SMEs, academia, NGOs and individuals. More than 150 of its members are companies.

Forética’s mission is to foster a culture of sustainability, responsibility and accountability within major companies with the aim of promoting competitiveness and job creation. We believe that long-term business success has to be coupled with sustainable development and the creation of shared value.

Forética joined the WBCSD’s Global Network in September 2014.

Priorities

Our services to members are focused on three lines of action:

1. Customized servicesForética offers guidance and assessment on a wide range of corporate governance issues aligned with social, environmental and governance (ESG) criteria. This includes:  

  • Sustainability benchmarking and strategic positioning

  • CSR/Sustainability action plans, policies and strategies

2. Knowledge: We regularly conduct research and publish surveys on topical issues. Every two years, Forética publishes a major survey on corporate and consumer attitudes toward ESG issues. We deliver an annual calendar of activities including major events, conferences, working groups and other visibility and shared learning platforms as well as employer-supported volunteering activities.

3. Management systems certification: Forética is the owner of the EMS 21 management system certification, recognized by the ISO 26000 standard. More than 150 companies have been certified by this system in Spain and Latin America.
