Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (NRI), a leading provider of consulting services and system solutions, has received the highest award of Grand Prize at the Sustainable Japan Award 2022 organized by the Japan Times, Ltd. (sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of the Environment, and the Financial Services Agency).

The Sustainable Japan Award recognizes companies, groups, and individuals who have engaged in forward-thinking sustainable initiatives that year in each respective field with the aim of spreading awareness of their activities to Japan and the world. After a rigorous selection process by secretariats and advisors including Michiyo Morisawa, director of CDP Japan, eight winning companies, groups, and agencies were chosen from among 80 candidates this year.

The award ceremony was held at the International House of Japan in Minato-ku, Tokyo on September 15, 2022. NRI considers this award a recognition of its efforts to overcome social issues through business, which the company has been continuously engaged in since its founding. The award particularly recognized initiatives such as NRI’s provision of shared online services in the field of IT solutions, its efforts to promote the use of renewable energy at NRI-owned data centers, and the consulting services that NRI provides in fields related to sustainability.

Having been honored with this award, NRI will continue striving to help overcome social issues through business while working together with its many stakeholders to create a sustainable future society.
