Geneva, 6 April 2017: Today, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) joins 200 forward-thinking companies as the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). As one of the largest food processors in the world, ADM has an important role to play in helping to incorporate health and sustainability into global food systems.
As we continue making progress in providing quality nutrition to all, doing so in an environmentally friendly manner is very important. That is why, in 2015, we adopted a comprehensive no-deforestation policy covering both our palm and soy supply chains, and why we are working in partnership with great organizations like The Forest Trust to implement that policy. We’re proud to join WBCSD, which we believe will serve as an excellent platform for mobilizing business efforts toward these important goals across the agribusiness industry.
