WBCSD Academy launches new course to help companies seize historic commercial opportunities 

Geneva, 14 October 2024: The WBCSD Academy, in collaboration with ERM, is excited to announce the launch of its latest online course, “Seizing the Opportunities of the Sustainability Transformation.”  

As the global landscape continues to evolve rapidly, this open access, self-paced educational resource is designed to equip business leaders with practical insights, strategies, and tools to survive and thrive in an era increasingly defined by fast paced change driven by the climate emergency, nature in crisis and mounting inequality. 

The course explores how companies can best navigate the unprecedented shift towards sustainable outcomes that is taking place throughout the business community, by providing guidance on how companies can proactively assess and redress operational risks, and seize the sizeable market opportunities that are emerging. 

Participants taking the course will have the opportunity to: 

• Understand the sustainability transformation currently unfolding across society and the economy and its implications for business.  

• Discover the critical mindset shifts that are needed to unlock the opportunities associated with this transformation.  

• Leverage emerging frameworks to assess where their companies stand when it comes to their transformation journey and what action needs to be taken moving forward.  

• Draw inspiration from real-world business cases and the perspectives of business leaders.  

This course builds on the “Catching the Wave: Seizing the Opportunities of Sustainable Transformation” report, published earlier this year by WBCSD and ERM. This report draws on the perspectives of over 130 executives and sustainability experts in leading global businesses across all sectors and geographies, who are working to capitalize on the opportunities that sustainability transformation represents and safeguard their companies’ future success.
