On 16 November 2023, Peter was named as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders in Business for 2023.
Peter’s recent recognition among TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Climate Leaders in Business for 2023 marks a significant milestone in his tireless efforts to propel the transition to a sustainable world, including by advancing corporate climate accountability.
The most urgent action we need to take, he says, is “the adoption of the global baseline disclosure standards (ISSB’s IFRS S1 – sustainability and IFRS S2 – climate) by all countries to understand the progress of businesses toward their net zero targets. These standards will enable companies to be held accountable across the three greatest challenges of our time – climate change, nature loss, and mounting inequality.”
The world is looking at business leaders for transformative solutions and in Peter’s view, its only with a frictionless, climate-related corporate performance and accountability system that we will achieve them at the pace and scale needed.
