PublicationThe need for robust risk management capabilities is of particular relevance to the energy system, which faces significant risk from the changing ESG landscape and evolving business operating models in response to the transition to a net-zero global economy.
This report shares perspectives from a group of energy system participants of energy system dynamics, risks and dependencies. It seeks to stimulate focus and present views on potential actions to inform the strategic and effective management of these key factors.
The report presents analyses from the application of an enhanced risk assessment technique – KPMG’s Dynamic Risk Assessment methodology – to the risk landscape represented by the perspectives leading companies operating in the energy system. This report explores how a dynamic risk assessment can improve companies’ risk practices and identify crucial aspects to continue creating long-term value.
This report is a continuation of WBCSD’s risk work and the guidance built in collaboration with COSO on Applying Enterprise Risk Management to Environmental, Social and Governance-related Risks.
