Laurette Siemonek is the Chief of Staff at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) – a premier global, CEO-led community of over 230 of the world’s leading sustainable businesses working collectively to accelerate the systems transformations needed for a net-zero, nature-positive, and equitable future.
Prior to her current role, Laurette managed WBCSD’s Partnership for Carbon Transparency (PACT) Ecosystem team, which alongside its stakeholder ecosystem, has developed the global standard for calculating and exchanging primary, product-level Scope 3 emissions data along supply chains, enabling companies to make emissions-informed decisions and accelerate decarbonisation.

She has also spent a significant proportion of her career working for the New Zealand Government, including as a senior advisor to the New Zealand Minister of Climate Change and Associate Minister for the Environment (Biodiversity) and in numerous policy roles across a breadth of economic, environmental, and social issues.
Laurette holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Climate Change Science and Policy degrees, and postgraduate certificates in advanced corporate responsibility and sustainability leadership.
Laurette is a proud Antarctic Heritage Trust Inspiring Explorer alumni (2020 Antarctica kayaking expedition) and loves spending time in and around the ocean (especially diving!). Having grown up in New Zealand, Laurette is now based in London.
